hai gurus,

can some body give me some insight into what is default source system assaignment and source system conevrsion after transport in the transport connection.

what r the issues to be taken care when transporting for the first time ?

Hi,

The source system conevrsion is used in the transportation for changing the logical system names.

For example

You have one sourcesytem(DEV R/3) for Dev BW. And you have other source system(PROD R/3) for PROD BW. In the transporting of transfer rule the logica system name is used . So after transfering the TR to production, this TR should be lnked to PRD R/3, not to DEV R/3 . So here the conversion is ues.

Hi,

Yes I have seen it. in default assignment, you will select the source systems in BE DEV , for which you want to have analogous source systems in BW PROD. Then after the source system conversion is used to change the names .
