using the recordset object to direct insert to table is this valid?

I was of the impression that the Recordset object did not allow to do Inserts to database tables.

But I discovered it was not to be, I tried an

INSERT INTO

statement to find out. This is all very well for me because I need this functionality for my Add-On.

my question is that, is this a feature in SDK or a "Bug" ? I dont want to use a feature that may be removed later on by SAP.

any information on this line???
