If you are able to connect to Univers Designer, etc. except Webintelligence,  follow the SAP note

Cause

The LSI file used by this application has been corrupted

Resolution

  1. Close the Web Intelligence Rich Client Tool
  2. Move the LSI file contained in "%USERPROFILE%\My Documents\My Business Objects Documents\LocData" to another folder (for backup)

(if your are using BO 4.0 the right path is %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My SAP BusinessObjects Documents\LocData\   )

3. Start the application and log in

Hi Kavya,

Please refer the below SNotes From SAP Market Place regarding Login failed with Web Intelligence Rich Client Tool.

SNotes:1249555 - "Login failed" with "Web Intelligence Rich Client" tool

Links:

https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/sno/ui_entry/entry.htm?param=69765F6D6F6465...

Or You can also check the hosts file in the user system, it is under 'DriveName:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc' and add the IP address and server name of the SAP Business Objects system. Then try the client tools.

Hope this will help you as well.

Thanks,

Daya

Hi,

please configure the host file of the client machine by adding the IP adresse and the name of your server machine.

if you have a firewall in you network so please verify if the port 8080, 6400 are opened in bidirectionel side.

ask you network engineer to verify this by launching the telnet command for example.

you can also try to delete, rename or change the esxtention the .lsi file located in

Operating System Installation Directory> <Users > <User Account> > AppData > Roaming > SAP BusinessObjects> SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI4.0  > LSI

the screenshot shows no errors. It shows that you have not loged in yet.

Please review WebIntelligence user guide on how to properly work with Webi Rich Client.

yes it just shows login failed while i login, and in screen bottom right corner on server cancel mark is there, but in ccm all servers are up except sia connection server am attaching snapshot of that..

the screen does not show the login failure or the error, so there is nothing for us to work with.

bottom right corner simply indicates that you're not connected/loged in. that's it.

Few Questions:

Were you able to login before and you are not able to login now from WebI rich Client?

Is it the Enterprise Account or AD, LDAP, SAP etc?

Are you trying to login using @CLUSTERNAME or CMS Server Hostname or IP Address?

BO Services being up is one of the pre-requisite for connecting to server, there are other configurations e.g. firewall configuration, disabling windows firewall on Client desktop, if there are any DNS communication problem then create a Host file entry etc.

When you say, you are able to connect to CMS from CMC it means the Web Application Server is successfully able to connect to CMS. It does not necessarily mean that your Desktop will have the same communications open with CMS.
