Backup Wizard Disabled in from HANA Studion

I am trying to Backup a HANA Revision 36 AWS machine to SPS5 Rev 48 AWS. However when I am trying to backup my original instance I see the backup wizard has been disabled from the  HANA studio. Also I notice there is a an error in licence tab that the system has been locked as its using more memory than allocated although looking in the overview tab of admin console shows there is still enough capacity left. Is there any reason why the backup wizard has been disabled and how to fix it.

How can I do the backup and recovery into SPS 5 without doing a lot of export/Import.

Hello.

It's due to the new Backup features of HANA 1.0 SPS5. You must update your HANA Studio at least to Rev. 46 to enable the Backup functionality again.

HANA SPS5 let you integrate your HANA DB to Backint.

PS.: HANA Studio 46 requires JAVA JRE x64 edition.

Thanks Douglas,

I have been seeing new backup icon in the SP5 related videos recently but did not realize that has to do something with my issue. I will give it a try.

I'm also facing the same issue though I have HANA Studio and client installed to latest version ( rev 48 ) .

Any solution for this ?

Hi Vicky

actually Revision 55 is the current one:

https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1852425

I recommend updating to this revision.

Hello Kc,

I used to get the HANA studio and client from http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-28294. And I don't see any upgraded version available there ?

HANA DB is already updated to SPS5 in AWS.

Thanks,

Vicky

Hello Vicky

you are right. For the AWS images there is currently no update available.

We hope to be able to provide an update in a reasonable time frame.

Hi,

Try giving a System Priviledge called 'BACKUP ADMIN' to the HANA User.

You will be able to run a backup wizard of that instance.

The user I am using already has Backup Admin and Catalog Read roles. Also I tried with the SYSTEM login which also don't work.
