Hi Avadhesh,

For the files and path listed above owner should <orasid>:dba with a permission of 755.

But be careful as some of the files need sticky bit. You may change the permission to 755 and try to see whether things work fine or not.

Hi,

Please find the answers for your query.

1)Does changing the permissions ,owner and group require any buiseness downtime as they are binary files…..please let me know

Yes. You need downtime. It shouldn't be root user.  Please find the correct permission for your reference. Please see the attached picture 01 for your reference.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE YOUR ORACLE BINARIES WITH CORRECT PERMISSION. OTHERWISE INDIRECTLY YOU MAY FACE OTHER PERMISSION ISSUES.

2) What should be permissions ,owner and group for 11x_64 folder.

Please see the attached picture 02 and change it accordingly.

Please check and provide your feedback.

Thanks and Regards,

Vimal

Hello

You question is not clear.

1)Does changing the permissions ,owner and group require any buiseness downtime as they are binary files

Nobody changes the ownership of these files when the application is running.

If your question is about SAP Kernel files located at /sapmnt/SID/exe then they should have the sidadm:sapsys.

If the question is about the files in the screen shot then these are Oracle instant client files.

They are normally set up with sidadm:sapsys.

2) What should be permissions ,owner and group for 11x_64 folder.

For Oracle instant client check this note.

Note 819829 - Oracle Instant Client Installation and Configuration on Unix
