Hi All,

I have recently upgraded DS from 4.0 to 4.1 and am getting the following message after logging into the Data Services Admin console (i.e. http://localhost:8080/DataServices).

The endpoint reference (EPR) for the Operation not found is
bip://aupssvm575:6400@SAPDEMOVM:6400/services/DS.AdminService?preferable=false
and the WSA Action = urn:executeRepoOperation

Checking the About on the logon screen it is showing as 14.1.1.210.

This sort of error with other tools seemed to hint to a version mismatch somewhere. Any ideas? It shares a CMS with BOBJ which is on 4.0 SP5.

Cheers,

James.

Hi,

Thats a common error when you install one patch over the other. Check this note KBA1664955.

The suggested repair may not work, so ideally after trying this you should uninstall everything and reinstall.

Symptom

  • Testing CMC connection to repository fails.
  • Data Services Repository Connection Status in CMC is InActive.
  • There is a problem to connect to repository: The endpoint reference (EPR) for the operation not found is <our server>/services/DS.AdminService?preferable-false and the WSA Action = urn:testRepoConnection

Environment

  • SAP BusinessObjects 4.x
  • SAP Data Services 4.x

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Launch the Central Management Console (CMC).
  2. Select Data Services.
  3. Manage > Configure repository.
  4. Fill the form in order to register the DS 4.x repository.
  5. Test Connection and receive the error.

ResolutionThere is currently no target Fix Pack or Service Pack scheduled for this issue. It is being reviewed by our Product Group.Possible workaround:

  1. Log on to the CMC as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to Servers > Enterprise Information Management Services.
  3. Right-click on the EIMAdaptiveProcessingServer server and click Stop Server.
  4. Wait for the Server to stop.
  5. Again, right-click the EIMAdaptiveProcessingServer and from the popup menu click Select Services. This will open the available and hosted service page.
  6. Move the Data Services Administrator Service from the hosted service table (on the right side) to the left side.
  7. Click OK to save and close the page
  8. Again, right-click the EIMAdaptiveProcessingServer and from the popup menu click Select Services.
  9. Move the Data Services Administrator Service from the available services (on the left side) back to the right side.
  10. Click OK to save and close the page.
  11. Restart SIA.
  12. Wait for the servers to start.
  13. Try again to add and save the Data Services Repository.

Alternative if the above does not work:

  1. Log on to the CMC as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to Servers > Enterprise Information Management Services.
  3. Right-click on the EIMAdaptiveProcessingServer server and click Stop Server.
  4. Wait for the Server to stop.
  5. Navigate to the <BOE_Install>\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\java\pjs\container\work folder.
  6. Delete the <Node_Name>.EIMAdaptiveProcessingServer directory.
  7. Go back to the Central Management Console.
  8. Right-click on the EIMAdaptiveProcessingServer server and click Start Server.
  9. Wait for the Server to start.
  10. Try again to add and save the Data Services Repository.

Alternative if the above does not work:

Run addnode.bat as per instructions listed in KB 1685576.

Final option:

Uninstall and re-install DS 4.x

Thanks,
Arun

Hi James,

Do you get any errors when trying to login to DS designer?

Please check also that DS repo is registered in the the BI CMC and that it shows the correct version.

Can you also try to stop the EIMAdaptive Processing Service  in the CMC:

  • Right click on the EIMAdaptive Processing Service, Select the option ‘Select Services’
  • Remove the ‘Data Services Administrator Service’ from the Right side click ok to save
  • Go back into the ‘Select Services’
  • Re-Add the ‘Data Services Administrator Service’ back to the list, click OK
  • Restart the SIA to reinitialize the service.

We have same issue with managing console when Upgrading from 4.1 to 4.2. Nawfal Tazi steps helped us to resolve this issue. After that "Data Services Administrator Service" has stops and we need to restart manually.

Thanks
