Hi Guys,

I need a help regarding mapping the Material properties to the respective Characteristic Fields/Names in EHS. For example, Map “risk reference code 1” to EHS characteristic “ZEH_EHS_1023_001_R_PHRASE” based on the SUBMAS IDOC.

I am NOT able to Map the following properties in the property tree:

RID danger label 2

RID danger label 3

IMDG emergency schedules

IMDG danger label 2

IMDG langer label 3

IATA danger label 2

IATA danger label 3

IATA packing instruktion 2

hazard classification 1

Please Help

Thanks & Regards,

Gaurish

Hi Gaurish,

Here you have to follow couple of steps.

Create new Value assignment types under existing property tree (or) you can use existing value asssignment types to extend with the new characteristics.

1. Using existing value assignment types -

a. SPRO > Environment, Health & Safety > Basic Data and Tools > Specification Management > Specification Database Structure > Settings for value assignment types

Here you can see how "Z" value assignment types created in your system and take a reference of them.

c. If you would like to use the existing value assignment type - Note down the Class (ValAss). ________

d. Use CL02 transaction, and check for the above class. class type - 100

e. Under "Char" tab, you can find the characteristics related to this.

f. Create characteristics in CT04 transaction for the new properties (you mentioned above), and update the characteristics in the transaction CL02, under "CHAR" tab.

g.  SPRO > Environment, Health & Safety > Basic Data and Tools > Specification Management > Specification Database Structure > Set up table-based value assignment (execute both the steps)

2. Create new Value assignment types under existing property tree -

a. SPRO > Environment, Health & Safety > Basic Data and Tools > Specification Management > Specification Database Structure > Settings for value assignment types

create new entries

b. You must maintain the "value assignment category",  as "A - Normal property (with Class)"

c. Add the class in the field Class (ValAss) - __________ (create the class in CL02 transaction, create the characteristics in CT04 and add the characteristics in CL02 under tab "CHAR").

d. assign specificaiton type to the value assignment type (for ex - REAL_SUB - in which substance, you would like to see these additional properties).

e.  SPRO > Environment, Health & Safety > Basic Data and Tools > Specification Management > Specification Database Structure > Set up Property Trees.

f. select the property tree - Assign the value assignment type, created in step "d"above, with the ID and level....which will give the position in the property tree.

g.  SPRO > Environment, Health & Safety > Basic Data and Tools > Specification Management > Specification Database Structure > Set up table-based value assignment (execute both the steps)

h. Run the transaction CGCZ which will matchup the value assignment types and characteristics.

**************

By following above steps, you can place your characteristics in the property tree.

You can map IDOC fields with the characteristics later on.

Hi Kamal,

Thanks for Your Help.

But What i actually Wanted is just to see which are the characteristc fields for the properties above based on the property tree. so that these EHS fields can be mapped from a SUBMAS document to a IDOC which goes to another SAP system.

I just need the correponding characteristic field names.

Hi Gaurish,

You can check the standard charactersitics available related to SAP EHS in the transaction CT04 by giving input as "SAP_EHS* ".

that is not necessary that all standard characteristics are part of the property tree. If required, you can add the standard characteristics to the property tree (if it fits to your requirement) as explained earlier.

If standard characteristic not available (or) not suitable to your requirement, you can create your own characteristic and maintain in the property tree as explained. this is not going to impact any standard business.

Constraints -

1. What ever the requirement from you is related to label data

2. Label data is not dealing wiht the characteristics in standard practice.

3. The details are fetching from configuration - SPRO > Environment, Health and Safety > Dangerous goods management > Basic data and Master data > Master Data > Specify Labaels

4. Label data will be stored in Dangerous goods master structure - RDGMDIOT_LAB1, RDGMDIOT_LAB2, etc.,

5. Eventhough you maintain the characteristics and push the data with the submas IDOC, there is no further use with that data (it will be limited to property tree).

How Business Impacts with these additional fields (using custom charactersitics) -

1. As I can see from your requirement, most of the characteristics are related to Dangerous goods information

2. the data will be transferred from property tree to Dangerous goods master.

3. later on the DG master data is going to transferred to DG forms (IATA/IMDC/ RID, etc.,)

How can you deal this -

1. Maintain the data in the configuration specified above. rather than maintaining the data in property tree via SUBMAS Idoc.

2. Ask user to fill the data manually in DG filling time (or) go for enhancement to update the data in DG master.
