External debugging

Hi All,

I was able to set external debugging and also tested few scenarios in R/3 now i am not able to do the same.

Can anyone help me in finding out if there is any role/authorisation for external debugging activation, or there is something else which is missing.

Hi Satish,

Make sure the userid you set in R3 for external debugging is same as that the RFC adapter is using in XI.

Hi Naveen, thanx for ur prompt reply.

I am not using the RFC adapter. i want to debug the standard FM provided by SAP used for IDOC processing.

I am getting an absurd error related to IDoc metadata.

I need to debug where the IDoc is converted into IDoc-XML.

For that i need external debugging. I found a note saying about setting external debugging.
