Need help regarding implementing "addition to existing bin" and "FIFO" at the same time.

Hello,

I need your help regarding the below issue.

User has a requirement to have a stock into same bin (at present bin is having next empty bin strategy) for different GR's if there is a left out space in the bin and at the same time user wants to use FIFO also.

Example:

User can store 5 boxes in one bin.

GR on 1st Feb was for 12 boxes - stored in B1,B2,B3 (B3 is having only 2 boxes).

GR on 2nd Feb was for 8 boxes - stored in B4,B5 (As per next empty bin)

Now user requirement s that system should allow 3 boxes to e stored in B3 and should not directly propose B4 but in that case FIFO is compromised.

Also Batch management is not implemented here so we cannot do it as per batch.

Please suggest if there is any possible way to do it so as to allow both "addition to existing bin" and "FIFO" at the same time.

Thanks,

Nikhil

the goods receipt date stored in the quant. if you do not separate receipts of a material then it accumulates the quantity to the existing quant. this way both receipts are stored in one quant and share the same GR date, which is logically wrong, but without batch managment you cannot achieve your FIFO target when using Addition to existing stock

Hi,

"Please suggest if there is any possible way to do it so as to allow both "addition to existing bin" and "FIFO" at the same time."

Short answer: No. This contradicts itself.

Thank you and for the reply.

can you please tell me if its anyway possible to maintain fifo for the above situation without maintaining batch as client doesnt want batch management to be implemented.

@ which GR date does system pick in case two GRs are stored in one quant?

Thanks,

Nikhil

Dear Nikhil ,

Could you try  by flagging SU , Add to stock enabled and check if it works as expected.

Please test same and let me know the results.

Dear Nikhil ,

I think you can have capacity check enabled to accommodate stock according to bin capacity.

Can you try using Batch management active for material   ,SU enabled for storage type.

Batch management active :

Expected results : Bin B3 will have two different batches and system will identify FIFO based on batch info, labeling each case should be done to identify appropriate batch while picking.

SU active:

B3 bin will have two different SU and system will identify first SU which came in first while picking.

Please test as  above  and combination of same ,  let me know the results.

Thanks
