Hi,
I am finding it difficult to create update rules and start routines and understand the logic in BW due to my lack of knowledge in ABAP.If any of you have any materials with information specific to ABAP usage in BW Please send me a copy of it to [me_shilpa_k@yahoo.com]
The help is much sought out for. It would be appreciated and rewarded too
Thanks in advance
Shilpa
Hi,
Thank you for your reply ,I am not comfortable in ABAP.Since I do understand ABAP as its a 4G language.I have never programmed in R/3.So that leaves me every time seeking help from other technical guys everytime ,I would like to do atleast some code modification if not write a complex update rule..I thought that there may be some Documents created for ABAP for the functional guys.
If you do have any pls forward it to me.
Thanks in advance,
Shilpa

Hi,
It is always not good to do something with out having indepth knowledge
about it. After few days, You should be in a postion to do any programming
concerpt in BW)sometimes, complex code also) . So my advice is start
leran ABAP now onwards, enev though it is difficult as starting.
Try to learn about below topics as a starting point.

Thank you Anil and Eugene,
I am a DW developer who was reskilled to do BW work due to a requirement...since then I have managed to do a couple of projects in BW.I have bought a couple of books too on ABAP but was of no help, since I felt that mainstream ABAP coding was different from BW ABAP coding.
Thank you
Shilpa

what i meant to say was ....
it all depends on how comfortable you are in ABAP coding for R/3...

Shilpa ,
You can find more about the same from help.sap.com and you can also find a lot of snippets on the forum which can help you understand coding for start routines.....
Also it depends on ABAP skills learnt through R/3 ... and there is also a weblog on the forum on ABAP for BW.
