Product Interchangeability

Hi all,

I am having the following requirement in deployment . ie demand on Product P2 should be first met by stock of P1.

Is there any BADI available to meet this reuqirement.

Have defined the Product interchangeability as full and stock use up indicator as yes and valid from date from current date.

Product		Stock	Demand
P1	Source	30	0
P2	Source	120	0
P1	Destination	0	0
P2	Destination	0	20

Hi Nanda,

try following Badi if you are using heuristic

Stock forwarding for product interchangablity

SPRO -> SNP--> BAdi for SNP --> stock forwarding for prod interchangability

I identified the BADI /SAPAPO/SNP_INC_STFW yesterday. Have you worked on this BADI Impln.

Is it the same what you are mentioning.

Any idea how we can implement this BADI.

Hi Manas,

I am checking directly in se18, though i could see the BADI details i could not see any document for this BADI Impln in language EN. Also tried logging in german language also.

Also in SPRO itself i could not see any BADI as per your reply.

I am working in SCM 7.0 version.

Could you help me in finding out the documentation for me.

Hi Nanda,

I think you just need to set the flag that stock of the predecessor should be forwarded to the successor.This is in the method - QUERY_STOCK_FORWARDING and variable name - CV_FORWARD_STOCK. If you would like to filter this enhancement only for specific products; you can use the structure IS_LOCMAT.

Long time back we also had this issue where the stock of the predecessor was not carried over to the successor. We checked with SAP that time and advised to implement this BADI.

How ever we didn't implement this as most of our products go with Forward interchangebility.

Here is the some information received from SAP on this topic as part of OSS message which might be helpful .

There are two types of planning for SNP Heuristics in terms of interchangeability.

1.       Horizontal 😆 Plan A first for full horizon and then use any excess stock for B.

2.       Vertical 😆 Bucket by bucket. All the demands will be collected for A and then A & B processed in parallel by bucket by bucket so that any excess stock of predecessor in the planning bucket can be used for successor demand in that planning bucket.

By default standard setting is horizontal which doesn’t work for FULL logic. In order to activate the vertical planning (Stock forwarding to successor); the BADI enhancement  - /SAPAPO/SNP_INC_STFW to be implemented.

Remarks; When we tested this BADI;  It was working fine for FULL logic and it broke Forward logic where stock 'A' is being forwarded to B vertically if there are any demands coming from B before the stock is being used for A's own demands.

I am not sure whether you might get the same error or it is already addressed recently.
