query regarding duplicate record detection on thick client

Hi Experts,

We are working on postal address validation and duplicate detection feature on different entities like customers, vendors and business partners (XK01, XD01 and BP T-codes). As of now it works based on address types (Type 1, 2 and 3) but according to new requirement it should be configurable based on all three entity types. So if in case customer wants this functionality only for vendor entities they should be able to configure that.

We have SA17 and SA24 t-codes to change configuration of address types as of now. We are using SAP BADI's to invoke custom code. Is it possible to make this configuration based on entities? This duplicate detection call can come from anywhere like SAP thick client, thin client or any middle ware.
