query dbmcli backup history

We schedule our backups via DB13 and write to Disk.  When i check the backup using dbmcli command line using backup_history_list, I get the details for 2009 and not anything after that.  I am not sure how updates to backup tables are triggered. Can any one lend any thoughts.

When I check the log via DB13, I get pointed to a .spa file however I did a find on the database directory on the OS and cant find any file/files with .spa extention. I am guessing this .spa file is from within the database. I am doing a trace now but the analysis via trace can take a lot of time. Basically i am looking to write a script and need to check last backup status via command line for that. I just need to get the last db run data and i will pickup the script from there.

Hi Kalyana,

Since you could see the backup history from the year 2009 , I assume you have a very long backup history log as of today. Due to such long history file system may not show you all the history details or may not show you latest log details as well. You need to shorten the size of this backup history log file to view the latest backup details.

How to achieve this: refer link http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/MaxDB/How+To+-+Shorten+the+backup+history+for+MaxDB+instances

Hope this helps.
