Back-porting the New ABAP Editor to older WebAS Releases

I have posted a weblog that makes a case for SAP back-porting the new ABAP editor to older WebAS Releases:

/people/thomas.jung3/blog/2005/08/09/speak-your-voice-new-abap-editor-for-older-releases

I am suggesting that if you wish to support such a development by SAP that you please reply to this forum posting simply stating what release you would like to see the new editor back-ported to. Please be realistic (no 3.0F is not realistic). What version of the WebAS do you really think you will be developing on for the next few years.

We have an opportunity to have voices heard and perhaps make a difference!

    Hi Thomas,

I would say that the new editor should be available from ver 6.20.

    Thanks

Currently we are using 4.6c, but the next year we will upgrate to 620. So 620 it's a nice idea.

We are on 4.6C, so it would be nice to have the new editor on 4.6C.

I dont care either, but we should post in a single location. I suggest Thomas Jung, as the thread "owner", makes the decision and then we stick to it.

    Thomas, your turn 😊

    Hello,

atleast starting with WebAS 620. 4.6C would be great but we don't have them around anymore 😉
