Hi,

I'm trying to install the SAP Solution Manager 7.0 but when i try to compile the spainst appear this error:

I'm new to SAP. and i'd like some help.

I'm running the installation in root.

Can help me?

Add record to resolve hostname to ip address to /etc/hosts file:

<ip-address> VES2011

It's working. I needed the dvd 51042617 SAP KERNEL LINUX_X86_64.

Hi again,

I'm trying to install but now in the application installer display it ask for Kernel NW 7.2. I had download the DVD NW_7.02_Kernel_7.20_HP_AIX_SOL_z_OS but when i do next to continue the installation appears this error:

You entered: /root/NW_7.02_Kernel_7.20_HP_AIX_SOL_z_OS/LABEL.ASC Found the label SAP:AKK:720:DVD_KERNEL:SAP Kernel 7.20:Dxxxxxxxx:*:D51039102 but need the label SAP:AKK:720:UKERNEL:*:LINUX_X86_64:*

Can you help me?

Hi Vimal,

I can't find the DVD that you told me to use.

I had try with 10 DVD SL CONTROLLER 720 that the site have to download.

Every time the error it's the same. Ask for the file SAP:AKK:720:UKERNEL:*:LINUX_X86_64:*

You need to download correct version of 720 unicode kernel DVD for linux x86_64 and database you selected for installation.

I had downloaded the Solman 7.1 SR1 UC_KERNEL 7.20 foe Sysbase LINUX x86 x64

BS7i2011 UC_KERNEL7.20 EXT LINUX on x86 64 64bits Sybase

BS7i2010 KERNEL7.20 EXT LINUX on x86 64 64bits

and others kernel version for LINUX x86 x64 that is the type that i select for the installation.

I'm downloading other version. I will trying until it work.

Hi,

Try to ping the server VES2011 and see whether it works.

If not, do as per the Roman N suggestion and check. 

You should have your hostname resolved before starting the SAPINST.

Hi Fernandes,

Start with the following command

./sapinst SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME=VES2011

Also check the JAVA_HOME variable.

maintain the hostname in /etc/hosts file.

can you tell the operating system name.

I had try like you said but the error was the same. I'm using the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11.
