SAP BC 4.7 Installation

Is it true that BC 4.7 cannot be installed on Windows XP SP2? Actually I tried this today, first of all I had to download and instal JRE 1.3.1 as it wouldn't work with any of the later editions. Next I finally got the installation screen, but when I click 'next' after the "select the type of setup you prefer" screen I get the error "Error: Please use an absolute path instead of C:\" even though I HAVE specified the absolute path "C:\sapbc47\Server\". Is this definately an XP problem?

You need a server, SAP uses features like RFC which run as services on Windows NT Server (even Professional won't do) or better Windows 2000 Server ... check for Window 2003 Server (there should be no issues).

I've installed BC 4.7 on XP and there is a little trick 😉

    Follow the Next instructions :

-Delete the Folder that I told you Before "C:sapbc47Server".

    -(Next Restart your machine)

-After you run the BC Installer, when it ask for the path, don`t do anything and click next.

-The Installer will ask you if you want create the folder, click yes.

-Then next and next, and you will get the same error, and here is the important thing.

-Click back until the Installer ask you for the path, then you modify the path to "sapbc47Server" and then click next.

-you will get some error but don´t worry and continue the installation.

PS: I have WIN XP SP1.

    Good luck
