Service Notification docoument number range skipping

Dear ALL

I would really like some solutions for the problem that i am facing . Notification numbers does not exist , but the numbers are skipping! . Is there any SAP note i got to apply ?

Help required !!!

you probably need to check consistency of number range. (se38 - RSSNR0T1- number range object DNO_NOTIF) then create number range again and recheck.

Greetings Jagan,

Do you have Early Number assignment enabled for the Notification type config? If so, then be aware that the number is allocated as soon as you enter the Create transaction IW21 (or IW24/5/6) and not upon the saving of the notification. This can lead to numbers being skipped in BAU operation.

Check SNRO for object DNO_NOTIF. see how much is buffer?

Also how the notification is getting generated? Is it from maintenance plan? If it is from Plan check scheduling overview and see if notification number is consume.

Are you using Early Number Allocation for Service Notification??

I checked in snro with the object type , but my group is not there . The notification i create in IW51 is not from maintenance plan . I create a service notification and then rest assign the required technicians.

As soon as you enter in IW51 system consume number range. remove tick early notification allowcation from notification type config.

When the customer call , user save's these details in IW51 and saves it . Then customer calls in again to check the status . Then the user check the number given by the customer but the message comes as XXXX does not exist !!!.

There will not be a group where you assign number range.

In SNRO for object DNO_NOTIF check how much is buffer.

Can you please confirm if your getting update termination message.

1- Create notification

2- save it.

3- Click on back button.

4- See if you get update terminated message.

i check the No .of numbers in buffer is 10

If your ABAPer is doing any development related to service notification, BAPI, FM used may cause problem and system will give update terminated message. In this case system will not save that notification. Please check with your ABAPer.

How are the users creating the notification e.g. via SAP GUI, via portal, via 3rd party software??
