Hi,
Can somebody let me know about EP and BARCODE related stuff.. Any information would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Siva Maranani.
HI SIva
The UI element BarCodeReader is used for mobile data entry with a pocket PC that is able to read barcodes with the aid of special equipment. For example, it can be used to read the barcode with an EAN product ID featured on a products packaging.
If you insert this UI element into a view of a mobile Web Dynpro application, the pocket PC is then ready to scan when the application is called and the read data can be passed to the J2EE Engine (server).
You can call this WEbdynpro application in Portal.

Hi Siva,
I think this problem is more related to RFID. Please visit the links:
<b>1) https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/technologies/rfid/rfid technology - what is the business case.article</b>
<i>Note the line <b>"The benchmark for RFID technology is the conventional barcode technology".</b></i>

You can use interface elements provided by mobile add-on library for the mobile data entry with special reading devices. The data can be entered using barcode read function or a RFID read function of the mobile device.
I think these links will give you some clear picture.
Hope this helps you.

Pravesh
