Hi Team,
I am bit confused on how delivery date gets calculated in delivery schedule tab of STO.
I have tried different scenarios but not able to determine how it is actually calculating date.
Does it consider planned delivery time in shipping tab or route in shipping tab.
As per my analysis i came to below conclusion:
If route scedule is active in delivery scedule tab then it gives preference only to route and not planned delivery time that is fetched from info record.
If route scedule is not active, then i am not able to determine how all dates are getting calclutaed like material staging date, GI date , GR end date and time.
Also i analyzed that if it is route sceduled then delivery date is same as GR end date, but if route scedule is inactive then delviery date will differ from GR end date.
Also GR end date and time are fields only appearing in ECC 6.0.
Could anyone please let me know how calculation taked place.
Or are there any standard notes available for calculation of delivery date in STO.
Thanks in advance for any help

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
But i am confused on how it actually calulates when route and planned delivery time are specified.
Example : route has 5 days in transit and planned delivery time is 20 days.
Then i am not able to detemine how it is calcutaing delviery date.
Everytime i get different result when i make changes to planned delivery time.
It is sure that it considers both this factors while calculating delivery date. Also everytime material availablity date changes even if quantity is same only planned delivery time is changes in the info record.
I am not sure if it is following forward scehduling or backward.
It would be very helpfull if i can get calculation system uses to calculate all dates based on route and planned delivery time.
Also for scnerios of with route schedule and without route schedule.
SAP tries backward scheduling first, if it determines a start date in the past then SAP automatically switches to forward scheduling
The calculation is explained in help.sap.com

Thanks for your reply Jurgen
I have stock of material available also there available stock in MD04. Stock is 1400 KG avaialable.
I am creating STO of 200KG. I am not able to determine if it is following forward scheduling or backward scheduling. It is populating delivery date differently for different scenarios.
Also all dates like material staging dates and all dates are getting callucated automatically and differently.
Route sceduling is not active.
I created STO on 24.01.2013
When :
1) Planned delivery time : 42 days
Route : 2days lead time and 21 days transit
Dates are :
Material staging : 13.02.2013 22:00
Transport plann : 12.02.2013 05 00
loading & GI : 14.02.2013 05: 00
GR end : 07.03.2013 00: 00
Delivery date : 07.03.2013
2) Planned delviery time : 7 Days
Route same
Dates are :
Material staging : 24.01.2013 00:33
Transport plann : 24.01.2013 07: 33
loading & GI : 28.01.2013 07 : 33
GR end : 18.02.2013 02 : 33
Delivery date : 31.01.2013
3) Planned delivery time : 3 days
Dates are
Material staging : 24.01.2013 00:41
Transport plan : 24.01.2013 07:41
Loading and GI date: 28.01.2013 07:41
GR End date : 18.02.2013 02:41
Delivery date : 28.01.2013
As you can see in all three cases delivery dates are getting calaulated differently.
I am not getting which date is getting calculated first and dependent on that other dates might be getting calculated.
Previosuly i thought that material staging date might be getting calculated first but it is also not the case. Also i thought that delviery date is GR end date always but that is also not the case.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
