Search Help for Date Field

Hello

Can anybody tell me the function module for the date field. I have seen in one of the standard SAP Transaction, where when u press f4 on any date field, a calender appears and when u select a day, the date appears in the field.

When i search the program, I got to see a FM f4_date. Not much help is given in the documentation. can anybody plz tell me how to use this function module, possibly with an example.
