Error occurred when opening db connection

Hi Experts,

We have installed an SAP Hana System(HANA 1.0 SPS5) with an SAP LT Replication server(DMIS 2011 SP2-3) and SAP source system(DMIS 2011 SP1-3).

The system hosting the SAP LT Replication Server is an SAP system with SAP NetWeaver 7.02 (Basis Support Package 11) ABAP stack using SAP Kernel 7.20 EXT(64BIT Unicode) and  patch level is 400.

we have successfully connected SAP LT Replication server and SAP source system through RFC.But whenever we create a new configuration schema for connecting SAP Hana System and SAP LT Replication server: the dynpro dialog raises an error:

Error occurred when opening db connection

Insertion of DBCON entry failed

The RFC destinations working fine.

Please help us on this.Thanks in advance.

FYR:You can download SAP Hana installation guide from the SAP Service Marketplace at the Internet address:

Hi,

Few things to verify:

1. Check the DBCON table with SM30, and ensure that the HDB connection exists. If not, create new entry.

2. Check that you have the HANA DBSL kernel 7.20_EXT update applied on your SLT system.

Hi,

I installed HANA DBSL and  HANA client as well and tried creating the configuration again but it showed the same error.

I ran the report ADBC_TEST_CONNECTION and it showed the following error.

  Loading DB library 'E:\usr\sap\HLT\DVEBMGS00\exe\dbhdbslib.dll' ...

  *** ERROR => DlLoadLib()==DLENOACCESS - LoadLibrary("E:\usr\sap\HLT\DVEBMGS00\exe\dbhdbslib.dll")

Error 193 = "E:\usr\sap\HLT\DVEBMGS00\exe\dbhdbslib.dll is not a valid Win32 application." [dlnt.c       255]

  *** ERROR => Couldn't load library 'E:\usr\sap\HLT\DVEBMGS00\exe\dbhdbslib.dll'

[dbcon.c      5767]

please help.

Hi,

Looking at the error message, you either didn't restart the HLT instance or you might have downloaded an incorrect version of HANA DBSL (possibly different O/S).

For SAP Kernel 7.20 EXT 64-bit UC Windows x64 O/S, please find the file "SAPEXEDB_XXX-10010494.SAR".

For example: "SAPEXEDB_401-10010494.SAR" for 7.20 EXT 64-bit UC Windows x64 Patch 401.

After you download the correct HANA DBSL, please double-check to do the following steps:

1. Extract the HANA DBSL Kernel with sapcar to e:\usr\sap\HLT\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64 folder.

2. Install HDB Client on e:\usr\sap\HLT\hdbclient.

3. Add "e:\usr\sap\HLT\hdbclient" to the PATH environment variable for "hltadm" Windows user.

4. Stop the HLT instance with sapmmc, restart the "SAPHLT_00" windows service, and start the HLT instance with sapmmc.

The HLT startup should execute the file copy from e:\usr\sap\HLT\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64 folder to e:\usr\sap\HLT\DVEBMGS00\exe folder.

The error message was showing that your SLT system is running on 32-bit kernel:

Error 193 = "E:\usr\sap\HLT\DVEBMGS00\exe\dbhdbslib.dll is not a valid Win32 application."

I would suggest you to re-install the SLT with the correct 64-bit kernel.
