MM UOM Conversion in Purchasing View

Hi Experts,

Can you confirm if I understand something correctly.

If I have a material master material in MDM Catalogue with a UOM of PAC but the MM has a base UOM of EA I have to maintain this relationship i.e 1 PAC = 5 EA in MM at plant level.  Or can I maintain it elsewhere so that it takes effect accross the whole company code level?

Also one I have maintained this I can't see the relationship in the MM02 or MM03 T code screens should I be looking somewhere else?

Thanks for your help!!

there is no plant specific conversion between 2 units,

would not make any sense when plant A could maintian a conversion of 1 PAC = 5 EA and plant B 1PAC = 4 EA

If you look at MARM table, which holds the conversion rates for  a material, then you will not see any organisation level.

Further as you are referring to PO view, I assume you are talking about order unit. the order unit is not even plant specific, it is stored at MARA level which is general material master data.

Thank you for that is there a Tcode or a reporrt I can use to get this info out maybe like MM60 which will allow me to see this data?  I was sure that the Purchasing data was at plant level, inc the buying UOM.  Am I wrong in this thought?

yes you are wrong.

Try this: use transaction MM02 or MM03, enter the material number, select the purchasing view, do NOT enter a plant number and execute.

Now you can see all fields that are global (not plant specific)

Alternative use the table browser SE16 to check at table level.

I see.... thanks for your help with this.  I'm quite new to SAP and historically I'm the business side, during out go-live our consultants weren't the best and now we are struggling to sort out the issues.... Thank you!!

Is there a report I can build as std to give me a full view of the purchasing view?  I have 70k+ materials...

there are no analysis reports on master data, you usually have to develope them yourself. e.g. with SAP Quick viewer in transaction SQVI,
