However we have a new requirement wherin we need to conver the planned order into multiple Production orders based on the Dependent requirements. Is this possible ?

Dear Leo,

Yes. It is possible. Use partial conversion of planned order.

Hi,

Can you explain a little bit. Currently we are using CO41 Transaction to convert the planned order to production order.

Dear Leo,

You will have to use transaction CO40. Select the checkbox 'partial conversion' and in the next screen specify the partial qty. Here, you can insert as many new rows as many production orders you want to create.

You can also do the same thing from MD04/05/06/07.

Hi,

Thanks for the clarification. However is there any way we can automate this. For Example I have 2 dependent requirements X1 and X2 based on which one planned order Z1 is created. Now if I use CO40 I have to manually convert the planned order Z1 to two production orders. However is there any way I can configure the system to create two production orders based on the two dependent requirements ?

Dear Leo,

You have contradictory requirements. You want system to club the requirements to create planned order and then split them as per the dep. requirements for creating prod. order.

Why so?

Hi,

Your requirement should be handled during the creation of planned orders. Make the system generate as many planned orders as required by maintaining proper lot sizing procedure for the material. If you want planned orders with the same quantity as the dependent requirements, assign lot sizing procedure EX for the material. Then, after you've run MRP, you can directly convert planned orders to production orders.

Hi Nitin,

Yes this is contradictory. But this is a business requirement. However as you mentioned the proper way is to create single planned orders based on each dep requirement and convert each of them into induvidual production orders. I will try this and see. Also we can create a program to simulate CO40 and create multiple production orders based on requirement quantity

Thanks

Hi,

You may just create several production orders of required quatites via CO01 and the planned order will be deleted in the next run of MRP. Alternatively you may use CO48 or MD04 to partially convert the planned order into several production orders. In MD04, double click the planned order, choose convert to production order and determine order quantity.
