SMART FORMS

i haven't worked on smart forms can anyone tell me from where shud i get the complete documentation related to SMART FORMS, i have tried making it but not able to succeed, can any one tell me the steps to make reports in SMART FORMS. and how it is different from ALV and SAP Scripts....
