J2EE does not start anymore after error in syncronization phase

Dears,

we are unable to stop - start our J2EE instance afte an error in syncronization phase , due to missing space on device.

Infact a file system was full.

Synchronizing file [/usr/sap/ABC/JC01/j2ee/cluster/server0/cfg/kernel/custom-log-configuration.xml].
Error synchronizing file [/usr/sap/ABC/JC01/j2ee/cluster/server0/cfg/kernel/custom-log-configuration.
xml].

java.io.IOException: There is not enough space in the file system.

But now despite the space problem is fixed, we are not able to stop- start the J2EE instance. The instance itself it's not running, but at operating system we see a lot of processes belonging to the instance.

The stopsap command remains in hang.

The configtools works and is able to connect to the database.

What we have to do to fix the problem ?
