Changing variable screen WAD 7.x

Hello,

In the WAD 3.x it was possible to customize the query title at variable screen through method FILL_OPEN_FORM (CL_RSR_WWW_VARIABLE_SCREEN).

I am looking for something similiar for WAD 7.x.

It is possible?

Thanks,

Luis

Hi Luis,

We are facing the exact same issue in WAD 7.X. Did you find a solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

André

HI André,

Unfortunately, I didn't find any solution.

I think it may not be possible to customize variable screens in 7.x. queries, but if you find something, please, let me know.

Thanks,

Luis

Hi Luis,

I have tried some things and looked up some possible solutions, but because the WAD 7.x runs through JAVA (as opposed to WAD 3.5, which ran via ABAP) it is no longer possible to adjust this in the ABAP methods (on the BW Application Server). I would not know if it is possible to adjust this in the JAVA coding on the JAVA server, we don't have autorisation to adjust functionality there. So I guess it is not possible anymore to make this customization at all. If anyone has an alternative solution (maybe via the JAVA server) please let us know.

Thanks.

Hi Luis,

I am not sure if a similar class and method is present in BI 7.

But your requirement of customizing the query title is possible in query designer.

In the Global Properties of the query, just next to the query description you will see a "Variable Entry" button. Here you can insert a Text variable. This variable will take the input from users and make it the title.

Hi Sujit,

Thanks for your answer but maybe I didn't make my point clearly enough.

My customer requirement is to make the query title available on query variable screen.

Something like the example below.

Any help would be appreciated.

Luis
