SAP B1 Functional Consultant

Hi all,

I have recently started working as Pre-sales consultant, however ours is a start-up company so i would be taking the role of functional consultant role as well and we have recently started on working on SAP B1 projects.Can anyone tell me

  • what was the initial struggle you faced when you got your first client
  • how did you prepare for the implementation of SAP B1 for your first client.
  • What were the initial struggle you faced when you started working on the project for first time.
  • How is the market for SAP business one compared to SAP R/3

I want your honest opinions๐Ÿ˜Š

    Hi Darshan,

    Wish you luck in all your roles ๐Ÿ˜Š

    I think the first and most important step is to set the expectation of the Customer right. For the steps to implement B1, I would suggest you to stick with the SAP Acceleration Program (link mentioned below for your reference). Make sure that you get the requirements right and implement accordingly as you know that implementation in India can be tricky, especially when it comes to the taxes and the business processes that the industries follow. I cannot really comment on the comparison but personally I feel that the market of B1 is better now that it used to be before. Be mentally prepared to face resistance from the users too!! Keep your cool and try to set things right with in the target dates. Make a comprehensive plan(with the dates if possible) so that the track is maintained properly.

    SAP B1 is for small companies. there is always issues pertaining to change management, understanding requirement, training etc.

    And also India legal requirement matching.
