Equipment data not getting changed while IE4N

Dear Experts,

My equipment master have entries in fields like plant section, planner group, maint. work center. Now when I install this equipment to a functional location using transaction IE4N, Its above mention data is not getting changed as per the functional location data.

Pl guide me on the issue, My requirement is whenever i am installing the equipment to a new functional location  the data should be inherited from functional location master. any standard way or enhancements?

Hi,

Check the equipment for which you are changing the functional location, you must have manually maintained the entries. This breaks the linkage from the equipment to the superior object relationship. To restore, you will have to manually change this by going to IE02 and change the functional location manually and select the option of inheriting everything from the functional location.

Try IE4N for some brand new equipment, the inherited fields would change automatically.

Rightly said that the fields are manually entered so not getting updating,

You probably need user exit IEQM0003 to apply check while equipment update. Apply your own check while changing equipment data.
