Hi All,

I have two doubt on LOVs.

1)

If I create a cascading LOVs on some dimensions. say for example

City->State->Country.

On which dimension that the country and state LOVs will get associated

2)

In cascading LOVs, In the same scenario i explained above what if i disable LOVs for a particular object. what would be the outcome .

Hi,

1) in BO 4.0 you can associate a cascading LOV in any of the involved objects, you can even associate the cascading LOV to all involved objects. Important here is that while creating the query the operator is "in list", not "equal to". 

2) Different LOVs are not dependant on each other, so wont have a problem disabling a particular LOV of an involved object

Thanks for your prompt response.

But my question is If you create a cascading prompt say for example on Country and State. By default on which dimension the LOVs will gets associated?

And

Disabling LOV means the LOVs will not appear at report level in that case, how can a user chooses a value.

I mean If a user selects a country then a list of states should appear what if we disable LOVs for country, then he cannot go for state .

Correct me if i am wrong.

Hi,

A cascading LOV will not be associated automatically to an object, you do this in the information design tool to either country or state (or both) in your example.

If you disable the LOV for an object, then no (as you correctly state) you cannot choose any value in the prompt.
