Hi All,

Is there any option to dynamin assign Document Numbers on the import Dialog while importing through SAP PLM - ECTR. We want to assign the Solidworks Number to the Document Number in the import Dialog

Can SOLIDWORKS filename be automatically assigned as Document Number while importing SLW models into SAP..

Currently we assign document numbers manually in the import Dialog after some Excel manipulation and it is a huge task if the assembly files have more than 100 parts...

Any suggestion will be helpfull

Regards

Alex Luppo

Hi Alex,

SLW filenames can be automatically assigned as Document Number while importing SLW models into SAP as follows,

1. Add the names of these files in the properties of the SLW model or DRW or assembly.

2. Then map the below values into attributes-to-sap.xml file available in the install path of ECTR (applications/slw)

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
<mapping>

<section name="SLWMDL" description="Model mapping from SOLIDWORKS 3D to SAP">
<APPL_ATTRIBUTE name="_DOCDESCR">
<APPL_ATTRIBUTE name="Description"/>
</APPL_ATTRIBUTE>
<APPL_ATTRIBUTE name="_DOCNUMBER">
<APPL_ATTRIBUTE name="Number"/>
</APPL_ATTRIBUTE>
<MA field="GROSS_WT">
<APPL_ATTRIBUTE name="Weight"/>
</MA>
<MA field="UNIT_OF_WT">
<APPL_ATTRIBUTE name="Unit"/>
</MA>
</section>

<section name="SLWDRW" description="Model mapping from SOLIDWORKS 2D to SAP">
<APPL_ATTRIBUTE name="_DOCDESCR">
<APPL_ATTRIBUTE name="Description"/>
</APPL_ATTRIBUTE>
<APPL_ATTRIBUTE name="_DOCNUMBER">
<APPL_ATTRIBUTE name="Number"/>
</APPL_ATTRIBUTE>
</section>

</mapping>

Hi Alex,

Apart from the above answer that I posted (using attributes-to-sap.xml), other options you may try is - right mouse button click copy on the import dialog box the relevant default document numbers that gets displayed on the filename column and paste on the document number column...

Thanks
