Moving QI stocks between Plants

  How to move the stock which is in QI from one plant to another plant through stock transport order.

Stock Transport orders move the Unrestricted stock, but how can the QI stock be moved ?

you cannot move quality stock from one plant another only unrestricted stock can be moved from plant to plant through STO

Where is Movement Type Configuration, do we control this to do Goods Issue from QI stock instead of unrestricted stock.

its not possible to transfer QI stock between plants. And also creating new movement type for this will not help you..

you need to go for some custom development..

may i know why you actually require this requirement? can you please explain a bit more about your requirement?

My requirement is :

We have QI stock in one plant. This will physically transferred to another plant.

In SAP we create stock transport orders. But this transfers only the Unrestricted stock and not QI stock.

How to handle the situation to move the QI stock between plants.

1. Custom movement type ?

2. Custom development ? - what development is required to meet this functionality ?

Its equal to you are developing one functionality in SAP ERP. Even go for custom development, it will be resulted not possible "for a simple requirement".

OSS note 496992 explains that the goods issue from blocked stock and quality inspection stock is not supported and that SAP does not have a solution

OSS note 448761 explains it again in another way, that the stock in transit field is just one field, there is nothing to distinguish the stock type for stock in transit

You can check it yourself, look into table MARC and table MARD, there is only one field for stock in transit, so you can never know if you have unrestricted stock or quality stock in transit.

Hi Ashok,

It is not allowed to transfer the QI stock from one plant to another, it must be first transfer posted to unrestricted and then do the stock transfer.
