CMOD Activation/Deactivation

Can someone give me details on exactly what activating or deactivating a CMOD project does?

(I'm guessing it controls if the code executes or doesn't depending on the status)

Do I need to deactivate the project if I am making a change to existing exit ABAP Code in the CMOD project?

    Hi Kenneth,

    1. You are right.

I just did a debug to check this.

If you deactivate the project then the code inside the INCLUDES don't get executed.

    2. You don't need to deactivate the project if you are making changes to the ABAP code in CMOD. I guess you are doing changes in Development server only. After thorough testing you can transport the code as usual.

In Development server other bw developers might get affected if they are also extracting data at the same time. But deactivating the project is not the solution. They might end up in getting wrong data if CMOD project is deactivated.

Please see the below link for some conceptual details.

No need to Deactivate project (CMOD).

Required to activate Enhancement FM - EXIT_SAPLRSAP-001 or 002 /003.

Activate include program and collect it.

Required to collect Datasource and structure it which enhanced fields added.
