Hi All,
Need your inputs on an issue that we have.
We are on PI7.11 SP08. We are using SAP SFTP ADDON. One of the channels connects to a SFTP server using userid/password authentication mode . Password of the user on the SFTP server has to be renewed every 60 days(SFTP server team is not willing to keep password expiry as Never) and password expiry message (user id password will expire in another xx days)is thrown before 20 days of expiry of the password. The channel works well for 40 days and then when the SFTP server throws a message that the password is going to expire, the channel throws an error with the expiry message .It works ok (for 40 days)after password on SFTP server is reset .
My question is
1. Is there any way to handle expiry pop up messages thrown by SFTP server?
2. Do we need to make any settings in PI ?
Please suggest a way to overcome this issue.
Thanks,
Padmaja
Dear Padmaja,
There is no configuration parameters where the SFTP adapter handles the password reset request.
The best way ahead is to reduce (not never) the expiry warning time on the SFTP server for this user.
if not , do you have a possible suggestion on what could be the way ahead ?
What the is the exact warning you get in the window of an interactive shell client like putty ?
Is the problem only about a warning for changing the password or is it asking for a prompt that leads you to an option where you provide a new password ? Different SSH servers may behave differently and you need to provide the exact details what your server is actially doing.

Hi Bhagyesh,
Thanks for your reply.
In the RWB it just says Password of XXX user will expire in next yy days.
I will have to get in touch with the SFTP server team to check
