I faced the same issue with DTW for V9.0 pl02. DTW 900.52.1.0, 64 bits

it seems there is a bug in DTW, it is required to install MS database engine component :

Hi,

If you want to DTW, you have to save the Excel template to text file before DTW.

Thanks,

Gordon

Hi Khaleel ahmed...

Better Uninstall  the DTW and reinstall in the DTW from the Installation package and try...

Symptom

DTW templates have changed with the Data Transfer Workbench 2005

Other terms

DTW, Templates, DI, SDK

Reason and Prerequisites

Application functionality

Solution

Data Transfer Workbench Templates and the DI API help file. The DTW templates have changed with the Data Transfer Workbench in version 2005. Therefore the recommendation is to use the DTW in conjunction with the DI SDK help file.

The next steps will outline how to import a business partner with Contact Employees and how to use the DI help to see what needs to be in the templates.

Opening the SDK help file, information can be found about the DI objects by using the left hand pane of the help file. Expanding the DI API reference, Overview and Objects it is possible to see all the objects that are available to the DTW.

Viewing the properties of an object using the Object Model.

   1. Using the left hand pane of the help file the BusinessPartners Object should be located.

   2. Double click on the BusinessPartners Object

   3. The properties that are available through the DTW may be viewed along with their descriptions.

  • For Example, Cardcode is a Mandatory property

   1. Double Click on the ContactEmployees Object in the Object Model.

  • All the properties may be viewed for the Contact Employees Object along with their descriptions. /n2

In this example, in order to create a Customer Business Partner with Name "ServicesCompany", this company has 2 contact persons the Marketingmanager "Marcos P" at 1234567 and the Manager "Lucy P" at 7654321.

It is important that all property names are exactly the same as in the SDK.

"Cardcode" is a mandatory field but in the example "CardName" and "CardType" will also be used.

The help file will expose the following information about the property Cardtype in the BusinessPartners Object properties.

  • Public Property CardType() As BoCardTypes

Clicking on BoCardTypes, show that this field takes the following values:

  • cCustomer

  • cSupplier

  • cLid

The file should be created (Comma seperated file) in the same manner as the header.csv attached.

  • RecordKey,CardCode,CardName,CardType,ContactPersonRecordKey,CardCode,CardName,CardType,ContactPerson 1,0000001,ServicesCompany,cCustomer,Marcos P

In DTW 2005 there is no need for Linetype, this has been removed

For Contacts, the following properties should be used: Name, Position, Phone1, Gender and Remarks1

Gender is again one of this properties that has a number of valid values - an enumerated type- e.g: gt_Female, gt_Male.

The file should be created (Comma seperated file) in the same manner as the contacts.csv attached.

  • RecordKey,Name,Position,Phone1,Gender,Remarks1

  • RecordKey,Name,Position,Phone1,Gender,Remarks1

  • 1,Marcos P,Marketing Manager,1234567,gt_Male,

  • 1,Lucy P,Manager,7654321,gt_Female, "Only phone if Marcos is unavail."

Once the two files have been created the import may begin.

In step 1 of the wizard the BusinessObject OBusinessPartners. should be selected.

In step 2 select the data files, this is the same as in 2004.

In step 3 DTW 2005 will automatically map the information.

In the following steps Click Next. The information will successfully be added.
