Solution manager SMD upgrade

Dear Experts,

         How to upgrade SMD? I am planning to upgrade solution manager from 7.0 to 7.1?Should the SMD will automatically upgrade with solution manager?

Hi Ish,

Your SMD patch will upgrade by an LM-services, however you have to check Diagnostics Agent OS platform support (PAM) as per SAP note 1365123 attached guide AgentInstallationStrategy and note 1707141.

If you are upgrading Solution Manager 7.1 Patch 5+ better to you functionality of agent-on-fly feature. It will help to save your time and effort of SMD installation on landscape.

hi,

its nt required to do manually, done by lm_service of solution manager. But you need to upgrade host agent manually.

follow the attached guide Note 1365123 - Installation of Diagnostics Agents, page number 22.

see the rule #5 and follow the rule #2 without fail.
