711 posting allowed in HUINV05 but not through MB11

Hello All,

I have done a physical inventory for an item through HUINV and while clearing the difference through HUINV05, it allowed to post the difference with mvt type 711. Stock variance G/L account is assigned to a CO object through OKB9 and the postings are done correctly.

When I tried to post the same Mvt type 711 with MB11, I have received the following error message.

'Account XXXXXX requires an assignment to a CO object'

Message no. KI235

Here XXXX is the same Stock variance G/L account which is determined correctly but why I am receiving this message, as this G/L account is assigned to CO object also.

Sorry for locking this question initially, but I was mislead by the KI235 error, which was discussed that often.

However In this case it is not the main issue, it is just an error because of a different fact.

You must not use MB11 for difference postings related to WM.

Please see OSS Note 337215 - Transaction MB11 can be executed - with MvT 711 - 718

Thanks for your reply. I understand that MB11 must not be used for difference postings related to WM. Will you please brief me the steps to receive the newly found HU during physical inventory into the system?

Unfortunately I have no HU managed storage locations and never done a HU physical count.

I hope there is someone else who can help you here.

In MI04 and LI11N I would just add a found item which was not on the original counting sheet.

Hi Jurgen,

Thanks a lot again for your reply. Though you mentioned Mvt type 711 and 712 are not to be used with MB11, as our client requires it for some exceptional occasions, we have provided that. KI235 error which i faced has been solved by adding the field 'Profit center' as optional which was suppressed for the mvt types 711 and 712. Now profit center has been picked from material master and the account posted to concerned cost center assigned in OKB9. It works fine now. It would like to hear your comments on this solution.
