Converting PR to STO Only For Available Quantity

Former Member

Hi Experts,

In Standard SAP PR is converted to an STO irrespective of the stock availability. The system will only give a warning message in the STO indicating the insufficient stock available for requirement. Only at Delivery creation the system will restrict based on stock availability.

My requirement is to convert the PR to STO only for the quantity available and for the balance PR will be open and convert it based on stock availability. Eg: If PR is for 10 and available stock is 2, STO should only be created for 2.

I am trying to check if there are any standard functions prior to looking into using an enhancement.

Thanks

Hi,

I think you have to go for enhancement to check the stock availability in supplying plant and then check with PR qty if stock is greater than the PR qty , create PO with PR qty and if its less create PO with stock availability qty.

As in standard only stock availability is checked and PO created but cant alter the PO qty automatically.

Thanks,

Ravi

Thanks for the feedback Ravi...

This is what I was looking do if there are not standard options.

Do you see any impacts in MRP etc ?

Hi,

Since your check point is after PR created and checking with available stock, it wont have any impact on MRP.

But PR will have open qty and if stock is less and PO got created for PR with the available qty.

Thanks,

Ravi

Thank you for the feedback....

Eduardo - I have had a look at the note, but this is at an STO Level where as I want to restrict the creation of the STO only for the available quantities.

Thanks!

if the message number of the warning is M7022 then change the message attribute to error.

Thank you for the feedback....

Jurgen - Changing the message to error will not meet the requirement as the messages are at document level.

Thanks!
