How to configure additional OLEDB Providers with Generic OLEDB connection in BOBJ

We are trying to connect some third party OLEDB providers (specifically PI OLEDB and PI OLEDB Enterprise) to work with BOBJ 4.0. We have installed these providers on the BOBJ server but when we define a new connection using the Generic OLEDB Provider the systems do not show up. It actually looks like it is thinking it is connection to a MS SQL Server DB.

Any help would be appreciated.

When you setup the DSN for the Client tools, you'll be using the 32-bit drivers.

When you publish the connections to the BIPlatform, for use by the processing servers, you need to administer the connections using 64-bit drivers.

i forgot to add, i often install both 32 and 64 bit drivers side-by-side on the server, and administer the DSN in duplicate (both 32 and 64 bit ODBC administration) on the server - with the exact same connection name between the 2.
