Problem with empty strings in WebI report

Hi,

I have a WebI report that is filtering on several fields. One of the filters uses a 'Less than or Equal to 2' condition.

A lot of the records have an empty string (not a null) for this field. The report is ignoring them, but it needs to include them.

Is there a way I can modify the WebI filter to include the empty strings? Or is there a way that the BeX Query can be modified to convert these values to zero?

Thanks for your help!

If you are not particular about query filter you could filter it at the report side using report filters ,It should work at the report level.

    Cheers!

    • I did not see a way to reverse the 'Less than or Equal to' filter in the list of choices, again because of the empty strings, but that did get me thinking about other ways to check it. I had tried the 'Not in' filter before, but I used commas to separate the values instead of semi-colons (still getting use to the SAP way of doing things). I was able to get the data I wanted by using 'Not in 0;1;2;Not assigned', since the report is displaying 'Not assigned' for the empty strings.

This works fine for a small set of expected values; it wouldn't be so great if I had wanted anything less than 1,000 and the empty string as well. For that, I like your solution of using a variable and doing a replacement on the values with empty strings. I haven't tried it out, but I would think that would work.

      Thanks for your help!
