varchar datatype length

Hi Expert,

I am using BODS version 4.1. What is the maximum data length limits in varchar datatype?

In my source file (in excel) one column and that have total length is 14000. My target is txt file.

But in varchar total limits is only 4000. How can proceed this type of scenario.

Could you please advice me regarding the same.

Thanks,

Bhagwan Chaubey

    Bhagwan,

As far as i know there is no limit for Varchar in DI. But there is a limitation for database - SQL 8000 and Oracle 4000, in this case you have to use long during the transformation and convert back to varchar when output to text.
