Importing into RDR12 via DTW

Hi all,

I am trying to import address info into RDR12. Every time I run the import, it is 100% successful. However, when I check the table, no data has been brought in. I am using DocNum only for the first sheet (Sales Orders) and using Ship To Street, City, ZIP, State, County, and Country for the address extension sheet. Should I be including any other fields?

Thanks
Jeff

Without ParentKey, there is no link between 2 templates.

I was able to run the import by unchecking "unmapped fields only" and was able to choose the Parent Key for the DocNum field in the second sheet.

Thanks everyone for your help

Hi Jeff,

Could you attach sample of your DTW file here?

Thanks,

Gordon

Hi Gordon,

I use DocNum only for the Sales Order Doc (ORDR)

I use the below template for Address Extension (RDR12)

Thanks

Hi Jeff Craig....

IN RDR12 you should use the Parent Key

This field serves as a link to the parent template and it is mandatory. Either when adding new data or updating existing data, the value of this field should be taken from the parent template (the value of the first field in the parent template). The name of the parent key field is specified in the second row of this template.

Hope Helpful

Hi Kennedy,

Thanks for your reply. DocNum insn't an option for a target field in RDR12. I know it usually works with other tables and I was suprised not to see it as an option.

Thanks

Jeff

Hi Jeff ...

What version are you using, with out parent key you cant..

Check with your DTW folder if not try this

Data Transfer Workbench provides you with default templates for all the objects in SAP Business One. The folder hierarchy of the templates is the same as the structure of the SAP Business One Main Menu, and the template naming convention is as follows: database table name - DI object/subobject name.xlt. Example: OCRD – Business Partners.xlt

You can customize the templates to include user-defined fields or to fulfill the following operational needs:

  • Adding the fields that are not provided by the predefined templates
  • Removing unnecessary fields from the templates

Do not remove keys or related objects, such as CardCode, DocNum, LineNum, and so on. To prevent problems, we recommend that you do not remove any fields.

  • Rearranging the sequence of the fields

The Data Transfer Workbench lets you generate Microsoft Excel templates as the new interfaces. After maintaining the interfaces, you can generate new templates based on the new interfaces.

You may refer to the following SAP Notes for further help and information:

  • SAP Note 894035: DTW error when columns are deleted from the template
  • SAP Note 894772: Error occurs when you remove unused Template columns

Procedure

  1. In the Data Transfer Workbench menu bar, choose Templates Customize Template .

    The Customize Template window appears.

  2. Choose the Select Object button and select an object.

The Select Object window contains all the business objects, services, user-defined tables (UDTs) and user-defined objects (UDOs) that are supported by DTW.

  3. Per default, each object includes the fields that are most commonly used. To add or delete fields, right-click a field and select Add Field or Delete Field.

If you select Add Field, a list of fields that can be added appears in the upper right frame. You can select a field to view the field information at the bottom right frame. To add a field to the object, double-click the field, and the added field appears in the tree of the left frame.

  4. To create a new template, right-click a structure, choose Create Template for the Structure, and set the path to save the template.

    Note

To view the existing templates that are provided with the installation, choose Start All Programs SAP Business One Data Migration Templates .

    End of the note.
