How to use .NET NULLABLE TYPES/Fields with Crystal Reports using Visual Studio 2008.

Hi,

We are working on cystal reports reports using Visual Studio 2008 (.net 3.5).

Project uses custom data objects (entities) to bind to the report (tables , graphs etc. ). We are not using conventional ADO.Net Data sets to retrive and bind data to the reports.

With ADO.NET data set the null values bind correctly as blank to the report fields - which is exactly we need but since we are not using ADO.NET datasets we can not go that route !!

We have been faced with challenges when binding a nullable field to the report, it's breaking the report.

When we convert the fields to normal integer / double and return -1 instead NULL value (for numeric fields) instead of NULLABLE TYPE (.NET) it binds but the crosstabs reports , charts and various aggregations go wrong on the report.

Is there a way to use Nullable fields using .NET on Crystal Reports Basic which comes with VS2008.

Any help would be much appreciated !!

Regards,

Sri
