Hi Gurus:
We are thinking to upgrade from ERP EHP5 to EHP6 and I concerned about impact in the landscape.
Basic reasons to upgrade are implementation of ESS and MSS and the oportunity to use new functionality via Business Function available in EHP6 form HCM module.
Our actual landscape is
ERP EHP5 SP4
SRM EHP1 SP4
NW Portal 7.02
NW PI 7.3
NW BI 7.02
Solman 7.0 EHP1
If we upgrade ERP to EHP6, my questions are:
We need to upgrade Portal to 7.3 to use full functionality of ESS and MSS ?
If yes, how impact in SRM 7.01 ? Need to upgrade SRM too ?
Integration guides recommend to align landscapes with stacks
SRM 7.01 - ERP EHP5 - EP 7.01 - PI 7.01 or
SRM 7.02 - ERP EHP6 - EP 7.3 - PI 7.3
but, at the moment, we prefer avoid upgrades if its possible (our installation is young ...)
Thanks in advance.
Julio.
Hi,
If you are upgrade your ECC system to EHP6 then it is not mandatory to upgrade other systems as well. As far as NW portal is concerned, then you can upgrade portal to use full functionality of ESS/MSS.
If you check Landscape planning guide on SMP then it will tell there are 2 ways to design landscape- 1) Application driven innovations 2) Technology driven applications. Under Technology driven applications, you can check different combination of supported releases.
Same is also there in my blog: http://scn.sap.com/community/netweaver/blog/2012/12/06/sss
Thanks
Sunny
