Expanding and collapsing to show totals and subtotals

Hello,

I have a transactional cube where I want to show data in Web Interface .A cross-section of the data :

Company Account Year Period Cost

-

SAP ACC001 2005 1 100

SAP ACC001 2005 2 100

SAP ACC001 2005 3 100

SAP ACC001 2005 4 100

SAP ACC002 2005 1 100

SAP ACC002 2005 2 100

SAP ACC003 2005 3 100

SAP ACC004 2005 4 100

So the requirement is that the user should be able to see total for an account (say ACC001) .So my idea is that if I can allo the user to expand and collapse on the account so that he sees the data something like this ..

Company Account Year Period Cost

-

SAP ACC001 2005 # 400

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance,

Priyadarshi

Priyadarshi,

I do not remember for WIB but in Excel Layouts there is a setting in Layout builder where you can display as totals for one or more set of characteristics.

Hi

In GUI version, you can use the excel functionality to achieve this. Go to third step of Layout builder and on excel tool bar>>>data>>>Group and outline, and you can group the colomns you want but this is not working on web interface.

Thanks,

Raj.

Hi Raj,

Hierarchically structured planning using BPS0.

(1) Create a manual planning layout.

(2) In the first step while creating a layout you need to make a setting where you can specify "Hierchical Data Model" and also specify "Top Down" or "Bottom Up".

The setting can be done in the Hierarchy in Lead Column dialog box by clicking on Hierarchy button(this is the 2nd button of the 3 buttons in the top right hand corner).

(3) In the 2nd step of creation of layout arrange the charecteristics in the proper order( parents first with the child coming next).

Now when you finally creater web interface using this layout you can see the hierarchy where you can expand and collapse .

You will find out more from the application help under "Manual Planning".

Thanks,

Hi,

in a BEx query you must place the characteristics Company, Account, Year Period in rows and KF Cost in columns. Then you switch the rows to "Display as hierarchy" and "Expand To ..." to Account.

Hope this helps.

Rgds.
