I am new to SAP world. I like to learn ABAP programming by myself. So, I installed SAP Netweaver GUI for windows. I want to go to ABAP Workbench menu. Could you please help what I need to do? Did I install the correct software ?

Hello

SAP gui is just the front end portion. It is used to access SAP ABAP based systems.

Generally SAP systems reside on a server and users install SAP gui on the desktops via which they can interact with the SAP system.

For you to practice ABAP you will need SAP ABAP system say ECC , BW , CRM etc .

Thanks & Regards

Hi,

SAP GUI is the frontend application that connects to your backend SAP Netweaver Server (ERP, BW, CRM, etc).  You will need a backend server to connect your SAPGUI to in order to do ABAP development.
