Single Sign On with AD

I understand this question is probably asked but I couldnt find a complete answer. I have set up my new BI4.0 environment with the AD group setting. After that as per the Admin Guide KRB5.ini, bsc, global properties file for drop down for AD and everything has been completed and AD login works perfectly on the Tomcat.

However my end users will be accessing the BI 4.0 environment via a Web App server link. I want to change the settings and make them work on the web application server as well. Like have the new tomcat java location, etc

Is there any document out there which documents all this? Should I be redeploying the BOE war file with the updated Global and BILaunchpad properties?

Any input is highly appreciated.

    Hi Alok,

If you have modified BILaunchpad and global properties for SSO then you just need to place these files in the directory “InstallDirectory\tomcat6\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\config\custom”.

Once you place these files, you need to restart the tomcat.

If you want, you can follow this SAP Note: “1631734 -Configuring Active Directory Manual authentication and SSO for BI4”

You can find this SAP note at

    • Alok,

I am not sure about the \etc location.

I have used these files in WINNT folder for BO 3.1 in Windows operating system as per the SAP Note: 1476374.

According to SAP note 1631734, We need to save these files in Windows folder in BI 4.0 If we have BO and Application server on Windows operating system.

I would suggest you to create a new folder and place these files.

If this does not work then you can go with \etc folder after all we are just specifying the location for these file in JAVA_OPTIONS.

Do let me know in case of any queries.
