CCMS Alert for Specific error in Dialog Work Process

Hello,

We are configuring CCMS alerts for our landscape. Normal alerts are working fine. But we have some queries in this

1) Can we get alert for Specific error in dialog work process? For Ex. Semaphore issue?

We can see that for WP error , alert option is there.

2) We have added node for RFC Avai. monitoring, but we are not able to assign central auto-reactions to them. Assignment is visible in RZ21, but not in RZ20 or no mails are generating. (Please note that for all other alerts we are getting mails)

3) We are able to monitor SAPOSCOL status, but can we monitor last read/write access (As seen in ST06)?

Please provide suggetions here.

Regards,

Abhay

Hi Abhay,

1) Can we get alert for Specific error in dialog work process? For Ex. Semaphore issue?

Let us frame the question in different way, what will happen when Semaphore issue raised? It does not matter which semaphore error code you get ultimately your system going to stop. SAP has designed the Alert monitoring by combined the multiple errors for single cause.

So you may be not able to monitor semaphore errors but you can monitor stop wps, priv wps, wps utilization, long running wps..

Still if you want to monitor semaphore error then look in to SM21 log error reporting in technical monitoring or exceptional motioning feature available in SM 7.1 SP 5+ .

2) We have added node for RFC Avai. monitoring, but we are not able to assign central auto-reactions to them. Assignment is visible in RZ21, but not in RZ20 or no mails are generating. (Please note that for all other alerts we are getting mails)

- have you configure the RFC avai. to your technical monitoring? if not please follow the document  How to create custom CCMS metrics at http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/TechOps/System+Monitoring+-+How-to+Guides

once you link your RFC Avail to Technical monitoring, you can define auto-reaction.

3) We are able to monitor SAPOSCOL status, but can we monitor last read/write access (As seen in ST06)?

I an not clear on this. what you want to achieve by monitoring last read/write access. If your purpose to monitor the availability. You can take a look into ccmping monitoring Although System Availability monitoring is configured in technical monitoring.
