Hi All, this is for you seasoned basis resources. We are investigating using windows app servers to connect to our UNIX CI. We installed SAMBA and I can connect to the \sapmnt\SID directoy from the windows server. I am able to execute the install until it attempts to create the service. It appears to fail when trying to open the start profile. This is an R/3 4.6C environment. Thought it was worth asking. The service fails with a 421 error regarding but yet I can manipulate the files from my mapped drive.

You understand the CRLF issue between Windows and UNIX?
You have used SPAPAD (or an alternative) to resolve these problems?
You have read notes 788907, 83327, 80266 and 28781?
We have done this using NFS Maestro instead of SAMBA. It works fine apart from writing files from Windows to the UNIX operating system. So simple transports take ages - 30 minutes or more. SAP have said this is the way it is.
