Re-Initialization question

Former Member

I'm going to reinitialize my delta for 0CO_OM_CCA_9 in Q. Since there's a lot of data in R/3 I want to initialize delta selectively. But i'm confused about what values I should give in the selections. My selection fields in the package are Controlling Area, Fiscal Year/Period, Cost Center and Currency type. Realistically, what values I should put so the Init doesnt keep running for hours and hours. This is the frst time i'm doing this. thanks for your help in advance

Fran

Hi Fran,

You can do the selection on Fiscal Year/Period. Take a selection in RSA3 and try to judge the volume of records for a period or a range of 4 or 6 periods. This will help you to assess the amount of data.

Hope this helps...

The update mode in RSA3 is set to F.

Data records/calls is set to 100

Display Extr calls is set to 10

is that ok ??

i guess I edited my message after you posted your response. If i give it the selection for fiscal periods 001/2005 to 012/2005, it shows me 0 records. It should show me more than 0. Why is that? Please look at my previous edited response to see all the other info. thanks

Fran

All the settings you mentioned are okay. If it does not give you any data for that selection, are you sure you have this data? Usually the selections are not a problem...

I'm actually working in Q so its very likely that there may not be any data for that time period. But one thing i'm sure about is the fact that two records were created last week in front of me. Since they fall in this time period, they should have showed up right??

Yes, they should. When does your Fiscal year start?

Hai Fran,

There are some format differences between BW and R/3 data. So before you give a value to a field in RSA3, place your cursor in that field and press F4(help) and then search or enter the values there. Then it would get you the actual values. Also if the Data records/calls=100 and Display external calls=10, the system shows only 10*100=1000 records. Even if there are more than 1000 records extracted, it shows u only number close to 1000.Give as much bigger values so that it displays all the values. To restrict more in your datapackage itself is a better idea.

When I click F4 on the Fiscal Year/Period field, it shows me nothing. So thats why its not showing me any records. I saw that its extracting records for 2003 but when i manually put int 2003 (012/2003) it showed me nothing. U think something is wrong with formats???

Try 012.2003

or 2003.012

or 2003012

or 0122003
