BEx: New Variable not appearing in list of variables that can be used for replacement path

Hi,

I created a characteristic value variable for one date characteritic that is ready for manual input. I need to copy the value of this variable to another date characteristic so that the user doesn't have to enter the same date into two prompts during query execution. So, I thought of using a replacement path variable.

However, when I try to create the replacement path variable, the list of the variables which I can use as the source of the replacement path doesn't include the first characteristic value variable that I created.

Is there anything that I missed with the first variable that I created?

The BW instance is new so I don't know if there should have been a config that I should have done for the BEx variables.

Please help. Thanks!

Regards, Chard

Hi,

Issue is interesting.

-  Talking about 2nd variable with processing type. What is the reference characteristic you chosen. Is it 0DATE or 0CALDAY.

- Under Replacement path - Replace with  - Key.  What you have chosen.

Vijay,

You can choose 0DATE. Even 0CALDAY would work fine.

Hi Richard,

I'm pretty unsure whether a variable which is ready for input can be used for replacement path.

Uncheck this option and check whether the variable is visible.

Hi Geeta,

The second variable which uses replacement path is referenced on the date characteristic which I am trying to filer, not to 0DATE or 0CALDAY.

Should the reference characteristics be 0DATE or 0CALDAY only?

I agree Harish. I don't think the ready for input restricts the variable to be used as a source for replacement paths.

Richard,

Not mandatorily -0DATE/0CALDAY need to be used. You can use your Date characteristic.

Richard,

Why don't you try with Customer Exit variable.

You can follow the below steps -

  • Create a customer Exit variable for the Date Charatceristic.
  • Go to CMOD -> < Create Project> -><Select Enhancement - RSR00001>-> <Assign component - EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001 > -> <Include ZXRSRU01>
  • In the Include define the logic for 2nd Variable[Customer Exit Variable] by readin the 1st Date Characteristic Value and appending the value to the result structure.
